CrossFit is many things. Primarily, it’s a fitness regimen developed by Coach Greg Glassman over several decades. He was the first person in history to define fitness in a meaningful, measurable way (increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains). CrossFit itself is defined as that which optimizes fitness (constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity). CrossFit is also the community that spontaneously arises when people do these workouts together. In fact, the communal aspect of CrossFit is a key component of why it’s so effective.

Our Olympic Lifting program is specifically designed to make members of the feel more comfortable and confident under the barbell. It is also designed to help perform the lifts by teaching proper technique and building strength.

Here at Summerville CrossFit, we do not limit our fitness to what can take place within the four walls of our gym. We know that many of our members either come from a background in or dream of achieving goals in the world of endurance sports.

Kid Lifting Small Weight


Specifically designed for our youngsters, Summerville CrossFit's Kids program is the principal strength and conditioning platform upon which many youth athletes base their training practices. It is often also used as the main P.E. curriculum for many home schools and charter schools, and is becoming more and more popular within public schools.
